Frequently asked questions

What happens at my first appointment?

We will go through a thorough history, discussing any concerns you have and your goals of care. We will discuss your current health, any previous injuries, nutrition, sleep and stress patterns. A physical examination is then performed, including orthopaedic, postural and neurological tests to help determine if Chiropractic care is right for you or if you need to be referred for further investigations. This may be to your GP, specialist or for medical imaging.

Your history, exam and consent will determine treatment on the day and proximity of your follow-up consultation.

Filling out your New patient paperwork prior to your arrival will help you get the most out of your initial consultation. If you have any X-Rays or other imaging, it is a great idea to bring them to your first appointment.

Please allow 60 minutes for your first appointment.

What does it cost?

Initial consultation $110

Report of findings/ extended second visit $80

Regular return consolation $65

Family visit, when 3 or more members of the same family attend together $50

Can I use my private health insurance?

You will be able to claim your care if it is covered by your private health fund, but you will need to use your receipts to do this as we do not process private health.  This is easily done through your private health funds mobile app, website, or even by calling them. Funds usually make payment within 24 hours.

Is Chiropractic care safe for children?

Chiropractic care for babies and children is very gentle. I will take a thorough history and perform a thorough examination to minimise any risk. Chiropractors modify their techniques so they are appropriate for the safety and comfort of your child.

Chiropractic care for babies uses gentle massage, stretching, mobilisations and crainial therapy. In children over 2 years old the use of an activator, which delivers a very gentle and specific impulse, may be used.

In 2019 an independent nation wide review by Safer Care Victoria gathered more than 21,000 survey responses from parents and caregivers of children aged 12 years and younger, including infants.

The review found that there were No reports of harm by Chiropractors, 99.7% of responses were of positive experiences of chiropractic care for children, and 98% of responses indicated that Chiropractic care helped their child.

What should I wear.

Clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in. You will remain clothed for your examination and treatment, however I will ask you to remove any bulky items like jackets, hoodies and belts.
